It's officially known as the Fimiston Open Pit. The Superpit is an enormous hole in the ground; it's 3.5 km long (11,500 ft), 1.5 km wide (5,000 ft) and 600 metres (2000 ft) deep. The mine is located on the Goldfields Hwy, southeast of Kalgoorlie. They say that there's still more gold below the historic workings.
